Import Images

Users can import their own images into Illustrate, and use them to create custom dynamic infographics. This provides users with the flexibility to import whatever images are required, whether that be a company logo, icon, or even a gif.

Image Formats

The following image formats may be imported:

Raster Images
  • PNG
  • JPEG
  • BMP
  • GIF
Vector Images
  • SVG
  • SVG_XML

The dynamic properties are dependent on the image type that is being used.

When working with raster image formats (like PNG, JPEG, GIF, and BMP), only three dynamic image properties are enabled from the Properties panel: show/ hide, size, and rotation.

When working with vector image formats (SVG) all dynamic image properties are enabled: color, show/ hide, size, rotation, and volume.

How to Import Images

There are two ways that an image may be imported into Illustrate:

Method 1

From the Illustration ribbon, click the Import Images button. Find and select the required image from its folder location.

Method 2

Find the image in its folder location, and drag and drop it onto the Illustrate canvas.

How to Configure Dynamic Graphic Properties

Once the image has been imported to the Illustrate canvas, the dynamic properties will be enabled in the Properties panel. Configure the required dynamic properties as usual. For details about these dynamic properties, click here.
